Jordan, Ferguson, and Liberatore: music for voice, flute, piano, and glass harmonica

  • PianoForte Foundation 1335 South Michigan Avenue Chicago, IL, 60605 United States (map)

Soprano Jamie Jordan and flautist Emi Ferguson will present a recital of contemporary music with composer and pianist John Liberatore at the PianoForte Foundation of Chicago. Featured works include Kate Soper's "only the words themselves mean what they say" Jo Kondo's "High Window," John Liberatore's "if I knew," and Anton Webern's small masterpiece, his op. 25 lieder. Also included: a preview of "Had they remained," a song cycle for soprano and glass harmonica (the finished work will include percussion). This will be Liberatore's first time performing the glass harmonica in public.

The concert is a preview of a forthcoming album of Liberatore's works, to be released on Albany Records in the Spring of 2018.
