Frequency Festival presents Miranda Cuckson

  • Fullerton Hall, Art Institute of Chicago

New York violinist/violist Miranda Cuckson enjoys performing both as a soloist and chamber musician and is a favorite of audiences for her approach to a great range of repertoire and styles. She appears at concert halls and festivals, schools and universities, galleries, clubs and informal spaces. She has in recent years become one of the most active performers of contemporary music and is passionate about the role of the performer/interpreter in the creative process and in communicating the music. Downbeat magazine recently stated “violinist Miranda Cuckson reaffirms her standing as one of the most sensitive and electric interpreters of new music.” Her first Chicago solo recital includes the world premiere of a new work by Steve Lehman, along with pieces by Pierre Boulez, Nikolet Burzynska, Aaron Jay Kernis, Paul Desenne, Brian Ferneyhough, and Huang Ruo.
